5 Years ago, my hormones were a mess…

Until I found Cycle Syncing.

I had imbalanced hormones from the age of 18 from years of restricting and fasting. I was aiming to achieve the most “weight loss” and suffered anemia, muscle loss, and suffered from a whole host of imbalances. I dreaded my periods and took time off work to stay in bed all day because they were too much to bear. I was desperate for something that would help me gain my energy back, and make me feel vibrant again.

And then I found out I was pregnant. My pregnancy went well, but postpartum, my hormones were in shambles.

Caring for my newborn completely alone left me minimal time to focus on myself. I had barely enough time to cook a meal, let alone implement a structure that I didn’t have at the time for utilizing my feminine cycle for my benefit. I was caught in survival and needed to find a way out.

That’s when I discovered Cycle Syncing. I made a promise to myself that I would do whatever it took to rescue myself from years of unhealthy treatment of my body.

I began to loosely track my cycle and tune into myself, but I was still lacking a framework that would give me the consistency I needed. I had lists of recommended foods for my cycle, but no idea how to implement them into a menu. I tried different herbs on a whim, only after I would experience a certain symptom. I was lost, but I knew I had to keep going.

Finally, it all clicked. I was beginning to experience a more consistent cycle, had more clarity, and even began to experience pain-free periods!

So why couldn’t I get it right the first (or tenth) time around?

I lacked the knowledge and structure and the “why” behind the strategy I use today.

Health gurus online will throw out anything and everything and most of the time it all contradicts the other! I truly believe that when we are given information, we should know the “WHY” instead of throwing everything we hear against a wall, and seeing what sticks. We need knowledge to make informed decisions and to keep us moving forward. I knew I needed to follow some sort of strategy that would resonate deeply with me, and once I knew the reasons behind these strategies that I use today, things finally started to click, my creativity started to flow, and I that’s when I really started to step up into the more balanced woman that I am today.

I was forcing myself into the PERFECTIONISM that got me in this hole in the first place.

The All or Nothing mentality has never gotten me far. For years, I would beat myself for not eating the perfect diet, or for not completing copious HIIT sessions 29/30 days of the month. I was setting myself up for sabotage month after month, with an unrealistic idea of what perfect health required in order to be achieved. I would vow to start eating healthier, or get into better shape, and immediately felt the pressure to do it all perfectly the very first month. I beat myself when after implementing new practices and my first period followed, I was still hunched over begging my friends to send something-anything that could ease the pain. “It isn’t working because I’m not doing enough” were the words circling my brain, when in fact, that was exactly the mentality that was pushing me deeper into dysregulation.

I was expecting my hormone health to turn around immediately

Health isn’t about doing more and figuring it all out the first day you start. Us women are cyclical beings, each month compounding from the previous. We are designed to ebb and flow and step out into a broader perspective on life. We can focus on our needs day to day, and plan for our needs month to month, without having to “do it all” or “ get it all” at once. I had to learn the hard way to slow down, and work with my body instead of against it. I had to learn to tap into the feminine flow and strategically use my natural born state to my advantage to live a thriving, healthy life.

Things finally started to CLICK

I ditched the attempts of throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. I implemented a structured system for myself and started to see regular, reliable periods, my symptoms lessened, I gained a better platform for what my body needs to feel vibrant, and it started to spill over into every other place in my life. After researching, studying, and putting it all into practice, finally it was all starting to fall into place.
